In November 2012, Deb and Jenny are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. In the months leading up to the trek, they have pledged to raise a minimum of $30,000 to support Guide Dogs NSW/ACT establish a breeding colony and continue their fabulous Guide Dog training program. They see it as an opportunity to do something worthwhile for an organisation for which we have great respect - Deb uses a Guide Dog for independent mobility and Jenny works across the region as an Orientation and Mobility Instructor with Guide Dogs. Join Deb and Jenny on Friday May 25th at 5:00pm for 5:20pm at Belgrave Cinema, Armidale to watch The Way. Seats are limited to this exclusive event, so get in early. Tickets are $17 and available from Reflections Hair Studio, Jessie St and Isabella's Fine and Antique Jewellery, The Mall, Armidale. Any remaining tickets will be sold in the cinema foyer from 4:30pm on the 25th May. The Way stars Emilio Estevez, Martin Sheen and the lovely James Nesbitt, check out the trailer and reviews at: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_way_2011/ The Way is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends, and the challenges we face while navigating this ever changing and complicated world. Martin Sheen plays Tom, an irascible American doctor who comes to St. Jean Pied de Port, France to collect the remains of his adult son (played by Emilio Estevez), killed in the Pyrenees in a storm while walking The Camino de Santiago, also known as The Way of Saint James. Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage to honor his son's desire to finish the journey. What Tom doesn't plan on, is the profound impact the journey will have on him and his "California Bubble Life". Inexperienced as a trekker, Tom soon discovers that he will not be alone on this journey. Hope you can join us!
