Sunset Opening Ceremony - Celebrating 30 Years

Monday the 23rd of October

The crowd will gather to the sounds of Anthony Green, local musician and vocalist for Terra Firma, singing and playing his guitar before the ceremony begins. Beginning with a Welcome to Country by Colin Ahoy, elder in residence at Oorala, followed by didge player, Christian Page, and a dance performance. University of New England, Vice Chancellor, Annabelle Duncan, will deliver an )Opening speech and Greg Davison, Director Oorala Aboriginal Centre, will speak on the part Oorala has played over the 30 years.

The flags will be raised at sunset to welcome the series of Celebrating 30 Years events and to mark our commitment to the future. After the ceremony a light supper will be served at Booloominbah.

No matter what time of year you visit, chances are there will be an event or festival in or around Armidale. Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Flix in the Stix, Armidale International Film Festival and A Day On the Green.
