VENUE: Oorala Aboriginal Centre, Booloominbah Drive, University of New England. TIME: 9.00am-5.00pm. For more information, email tcullen6@une.edu.au or visit une.edu.au/oorala30.

In celebration of our 30th anniversary, the Oorala Aboriginal Centre at the University of New England, has gathered artwork by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from across our region to be part of a three-week exhibition. This is an opportunity for all art lovers to view paintings, photographs, weavings and sculptures by practising local artists. Most of these works are for sale.

This exhibition will include the bark paintings by respected artists, Tom Djawa, Samuel Lupindja and Djunmal , from Milingimbi Islands, Arnhem Land, dating back to the 1960s, alongside artefacts from Earle Page College, weavings by PhD student, Amy Hammond, and a number of works from the Hermannsburg School.

No matter what time of year you visit, chances are there will be an event or festival in or around Armidale. Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Flix in the Stix, Armidale International Film Festival and A Day On the Green. Other great annual events include Australia Day Festivals in each centre, Armidale Jockey Club's Autumn Racing Festival, Armidale Youth Orchestra Garden Party, New England Outdoor Expo and the NEGS Equestrian events. Do you organise an event that you would like included in the calendar? Please email us.
