Oorala 30 Open Day

Oorala 30 Open Day will be held at the Oorala Aboriginal Centre, the Graduation walk and Central Courtyard at UNE Campus.

Activities that may be enjoyed are: live music featuring Isaiah Firebrace (winner of X-Factor 2016) and Roger and Buddy Knox; cooking demonstrations by Clayton Donovan (Australia's highest acclaimed Indigenous Chef); local didge player Christian Page; the Duval Deadly Dancers; flint knapping with Mark Moore; a community canvas with artist Lloyd Hornsby; a weaving circle with Dolly Jerome; Paws ;Up with BackTrack. There will be tours of ancient artefacts at the Museum of Antiquities or to the Museum of Natural History; the artworks at the Oorala Art Exhibition; talks and a film about the importance of language (Big Boss: the last leader of the Crocodile Islands) and so much more!

No matter what time of year you visit, chances are there will be an event or festival in or around Armidale. Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Flix in the Stix, Armidale International Film Festival and A Day On the Green. Other great annual events include Australia Day Festivals in each centre, Armidale Jockey Club's Autumn Racing Festival, Armidale Youth Orchestra Garden Party, New England Outdoor Expo and the NEGS Equestrian events.
