Saumarez Homestead has a function centre and regularly hosts weddings, birthday parties, workshops and other events. We carry out educational tours for both primary and high school children and will formulate specialist tours in other areas on demand. We enter our winter season on the 19 June and are only open for group bookings and functions until 1 September.
The property provides a unique experience for the visitor. The homestead, garden and extensive farm buildings cover an area of 10 hectares and were given to The National Trust of Australia (NSW) in 1984 by descendants of F.J. White and his wife. The homestead was built in 1888 as a single storey residence and vastly extended 18 years later. Saumarez Homestead remains largely intact from this period and still contains the original furniture, curtains, ornaments, paintings, engravings and other decorations from 1906. It contains fine examples of stained and etched glass as well as the original staircase. This remarkably intact collection provides a glimpse into the family life of the Whites from 1888 until 1974.
Entry to the homestead is by guided tour only.
