Armidale boasts beautiful gorge country close to town. Cold climate wineries are now established in the area with nearest only 1 km south. Keen fossickers are encouraged to visit Inverell and Glen Innes which can be done in a day trip.
There are also some local fossicking areas however the better gems are found between Inverell and Glen Innnes. Armidale boasts a fine golf course which is only a 5 minute drive from your accommodation.
